To Destroy - What to Expect from Satan

Satan cannot stand anything that glorifies God. And nothing glorifies God more than a blameless and upright life. In the book of Job chapter 1, we see Satan going before God and calling out this man named Job. He suggests that Job is only blameless and upright because God has blessed him so much. Ultimately for the sake of glorifying Himself all the more in front of Satan, God allows Satan freedom to attack Job’s wealth, but not his body- later his body, but not his life.

In one day Job lost 500 oxen, 500 donkeys, 7000 sheep, 3000 camels, and seven sons and three daughters!

Later Satan struck his whole body with painful boils. He was no longer respected among the leaders of his village and all of his friends and family rejected and shunned him. His very closest friends tried to blame him for his own devastation.

Through all of those struggles Job did not sin- he would not blame God. In the end, his health was restored along with twice the possessions and new children.

But know this. Satan did all he could to destroy the name, the reputation, the life, and the legacy of Job.
