Jesus and His life and teachings all run counter to the way we naturally think and to the ways that we have been taught to think. 1 Cor. 3:19 says, “For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, ‘He catches the wise in their own craftiness.’”
As you learn and think and speak and act more inline with the truth and ways and will of God and less inline with what the world teaches, you are going to appear odd and off and even stupid or crazy by those who do not know God and His word.
They will mock and criticize you and try to cut you down. But consider what Paul, the great Apostle, said in the book of Colossians chapter 3 verses 1-3. “(1) If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. (2) set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. (3) For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.”
Set your standards, your sights, your eyes, your thoughts, your heart on things above (of God) not on things below (of this world).
